Why Choose Sterte Garage?
This
is a good question, why choose us over the other hoardes of car
importers in the uk?
The answer is relatively simple, I love Japanese cars, and as someone
enthusiastic and very fussy when it comes to Japanese cars, you
can count that unless I am happy with a car I wont sell it. Okay
so why take my word on it? Well this is our policy. Firstly we only
choose cars that are well kept and, if modified as they generally
are – well modified. We have a superb buyer in Japan who buys
beautiful cars for us to order, as near as possible to the spec
I require.
Secondly we don’t skimp on the cars, we offer a service no
other car dealers offer - we fully test and work on our cars until
they are at a level we are happy with. If there is something I don’t
like about the car, we will put it right.
We
always fully Service our cars before putting them on the road. We
consider ourselves honest so "servicing" does not mean
rubbing an oily rag over the oil filter. Our Service includes the
oil and filter, gear & diff oils, air filter, spark plugs, fuel
filter, brakes etc. etc. We also fit new cambelts to our cars (as
appropriate – some cars do not have cambelts) just for our
own peace of mind. I don’t want to sell cars that are liable
to break so I like to insure that we can do everything possible
to reduce the risks of costly car problems. We also provide a 1
year Motorcare cover with every vehicle.
What about if I feel the cars performance is not bang on the money?
You guessed it - we will undertake performance modifications to
get the car as we want it.
Some case histories ....
Celica GT4 - I was not happy with the paintwork
- the bodykit was badly painted and the paint had blemishes so we
had the car almost completely resprayed by an expensive body shop
to make the car look A1. Also the performance seemed a bit lacklustre
so what did we do? Removed the catalyst & uprated the exhaust,
fitted an adjustable boost controller and dyno tested the car to
make sure this was a safe modification. We also did our usual Full
Servicing and replaced the cambelt. Who else does this kind of work?
Nissan
Skyline R33 GTR - we put the car on the rolling road just
a few days after arrival to make sure the performance was just right
and to make sure it was running safe on UK 97-98ron petrol. The
car was a monster, making over 500bhp, but something just wasn’t
right; although it had phenomenal performance it looked like any
other GTR under the bonnet. I decided that I would want a bit more
for my money if I was buying this car so apart from the usual Full
Service, cambelt etc. we cleaned up and painted the engine bay to
a point where you could be VERY proud of the under bonnet looks.
Not only did the car go like a rocket, it also had the looks to
go with it!
Toyota
Supra 6spd turbo - this was already a beautifully modified
car; so close to full show spec we decided to go that final furlong
and get it looking the piece. We fitted a new front splitter to
suit the rest of the bodykit, changed the cambelt and at the same
time we had the cam cover, spark plug covers and cambelt covers
professionally painted. We cleaned up and polished the rest of the
engine bay to make it look like it had just been in the Auto Salon.
We rolling roaded the car, fully Serviced it and - hey presto! -
it was a cool road spec car which will turn heads at any car show.
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo - this was an awesome
road spec car but to make it just right we fitted a new clutch,
a new uprated turbo actuator and uprated the fuel pump & tyres.
We changed the active Yaw control fluids, fully Serviced it and
changed the cambelt.
RX7
– as always with a highly modified car we had the power tested
and made sure that it was not running an air fuel ratio that was
too lean (crucial with a rotary engine). In this case we used Abbey
Motorsports Dynapack, an advanced chassis dynometer which measures
power from the hubs rather than the wheels. It turned out the car
was running so much power it was getting wheelspin in 3rd gear!!!
So what did we do? We fitted £400 worth of street legal semi
slick Yokohama tyres to get it to put the power down.
R32
GTR – a gorgeous stage one car but it was fitted with
an unnecessary catalytic converter, a standard induction kit and
orange front indicators! We spent £250 on clear indicators
alone. We fitted a specialist cat removal pipe and £350 worth
of Blitz induction kit. This doesn’t even scratch the surface
on the things we did to get this car just right….
Still not convinced? This is a summary of what we
will do for your money -
